Hmmmmm, who started the war? Gracefully overlooked in this interpretation of history... no mention that the Nk's didn't have a snowball's chance in hell until the PLA intervened... of such omissions is propaganda made...

Senhor Rozario,

That article is a crock! My first hint was that the site is run by Ramsay Clark. Clark is a genuine certified anti-American. I doubt the fact that he was Jimmy Carter's Attorney General changed his view much.

The real history of the Korean War leads straight to Comrade Stalin. The PLA intervention came when American soldiers came within 50 KM of the Yalu after they had been warned off by Mao.

The only truth in the whole article is that the north Korean people want peace. They are starving en masse and shrinking before our eyes. That is the direct result of the Kim family.

Ramsey Clark Receives UN Human Rights Award 2008 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: -26
Is Ramsey Clark very anti-American?

Well, he protects the people who suffer...all over the world.

Examine his website:

Senhor Rozario,

Beal's article is correct about what Kim Jong (mentally) Il wants. He wants the DPRK to be recognized as a country by the United States. He wants our permission to continue to be the despot he is and pass they family country on to his kids. I don't believe that would be the best outcome for the majority of North Koreans. Do you?

As for the economic sanctions not taking effect, there are several articles in Daily NK, Joongang Ilbo and KCNA that point to the fact that the loss of support under the former "Sunshine Policy" is seriously hurting the North Korean economy. When Koreans start cutting down trees and selling the lumber for fertilizer, you know that they are in deep kimchi. Add to this the fact that Kim took the proceeds of those sales away from the Army, all stinks in the DPRK agriculture sector and it's not the fertilizer they don't have.

Best we should keep Kimchi bottled up and on short rations. Eventually he will cause real trouble and we can dispose of him albeit at great cost.

Re:The US-North Korea Standoff - By Tim Beal -June 7 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 3
At this point there is no good outcome for the majority of the North Korean people. There is a report circulating on Daily NK that is perhaps a more disturbing thought. The title of the article is North Korea Threatens Domestic Annihilation www.dailynk.com/english/read.php?cataId=nk01500&num=5116 . Any leader of any country who would even consider using nukes against his own people is more than a few fries short of a Happy Meal. He is down right insane. It also shows the depth of trouble that the regime is in if they would threaten their own military with their own nuclear weapons.

With a civil war somewhat precluded by the above article, presuming it is accurate, a collapse of the North Korean economy and a massive aid program by South Korea, The PRC, Russia and the US would be the best outcome. Unfortunately, Kim would most likely go to war as opposed to letting something like that happen.

About the only thing that can be said with certainty is that we can judge the economic stress that North Korea is under by the level of outlandish behavior coming out of the North.

Si vis pacem, para bellum.
