New twist in Iran's brinkmanship 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Maybe the Iranian government has FINALLY tired of the childish American game of threats and brow-beating over something that Tehran has a perfect right to do, under international law. Maybe they have decided to ignpre the "American-led" UN Security Council and their shadow government, (the "Iran Six" and do the Bush thing - go "unilateral". In my opinion, it's about ruddy time! As for the Russian statement that Iran ".....did not allow diplomats to agree on mutually acceptable ways for the fulfillment of the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] proposal of higher-enriched uranium fuel production for the Tehran research reactor outside Iran...."it simply demonstrates the degree to which the big, bad Russian Bear is becoming just another performer in the Washington zoo. It's long past time for the "American-led" world to knock it off and let Iran carry on with it's nuclear power generation program which, began in the shah's time, with the encouragement and co-operation of the US government. As for "....the heightened concerns that Iran aims to build nuclear weapons...." that too is another American-inspired bogeyman, like Saadam's nebulous WMDs. Not a shred of evidense has ever been produced to indicate that Iran was/is even thinking of building an atomic bomb. This is simply another American ploy to spook it's own easily-spooked citizens and those of it's foriegn lackeys, on-side. Finally and in any case, if Iran and about forty nine other non-aligned nations each built themselves a couple of bombs we'd sure find the schoolyard bully walking tippy-toe among his classmates, wouldn't we??

Ovaltine, I'm sure you didn't intend that smiley face. Here's a tip: it's a quirk of this technology that when one uses quotes and brackets together, they read as smileys. This is OK: " ) - there's no smiley because I have inserted a space between " and ). Without the space, this happens: " .

To me, smileys generally are infra dig, and I only use them when I'm at my most flippant. So glad I've figured out how to get rid of unwanted ones.
