First of all congratulation on breaking out the story of death sentenced to army personal against assassination attempt on President Musharraf. I am a regular reader of your column in AOL and I was expecting as well as waiting that one of the biggest breaking news of the assassination on President Musharraf on Karachi will gone to be break through you. I am sorry but you are also inspired or may be pressurize or may be you are also one of those who take dictation from the intelligence agency of Pakistan. It seems to be true, recently when your articles were not become the light of the screen, because of interrogation from these agency who is your biggest source.

If you want to break this image then why you are not going to bring the actual story of 11 June firing on Motorcade of Core Commander Karachi ? That it was not the attack on Core Commander, It was basically attack on President Mushharraf who was here in Karachi for his secret personal visit and Core Commander was not here in Karachi at that time. Lt.Gen.Ahsan Saleem Hiyat, later become General and vice chief of army staff because his son who was the ADC of president and he was the guy who drove his car and bring out president from location.

I am sorry if you not like my way of writing but you know truth is truth it has to come in front of the people.

I read and often differ with Mr Saleem Shahzad on several of his stories but please be polite when you differ with somebody. Reporters and journalists all over the world do approach Intelligence Agencies. The biggest proof is that famous Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward was in constant touch with US CIA Chief William Casey. Bob had written a book on US CIA Secret War 1980-1988 "Veil" and openly quoted Casey, the other reporter is Seymour Myron Hersh who is a brilliant Journalist often quote Intelligence sources and most of the stories he break are full of such sources and that donot make journalists a CIA or ISI agent.

I dont know what do you know about that attack on Musharraf {as per you} but the strange things which are related with these attacks and accused in the case are as under. In view of no access to Information in Pakistan for Investigative Journalism one must appreciate whatever Mr. Shahzad reports in www.atimes.com on Pakistan as he reports from a country which has very harsh 'culture of oppression'.

He also placed on record another letter in which Dr Akmal Waheed had made a request for security after allegedly receiving threats from a person in the US Consulate, Karachi.

In his letter on Feb 10, he stated that he received a phone call on his mobile phone 0300-2506312. "The caller introduced himself as Douglas Mathews, a representative of the US Consulate, Karachi.

The two doctors, who have been implicated in the attack on the convoy of the corps commander, Karachi, were handed over to the police on Friday, according to press reports. However, it is known to many by now that the Waheed brothers had gone to see DSP Fayyaz in the office of the Crime Investigation Department on June 17. They were not allowed to return home and were instead whisked away to an undisclosed location. If not, who arrested them? Were the Jundullah people really involved in the attack on the corps commander?

1) I was recently tried to make victim of breaching official secret act in the country for which different youth organizations took to the street in my favour, decorated the walls and Roads of the whole city with banners (whose photographs were released by national news agencies) in my favour.
Federal Union of Journalist reacted strongly and so national political parties in the national Press, forcing the coalition partner in the province to step back. I always "steal" the information, taking dictation from any one is not my way.

2) I started my career in journalism about 10 years ago from The STAR, Dawn group of Newspapers but never reported daily crime events.
In the initial phase of my career I used to write human interest stories in hospitals, later I was assigned to write on power sector. On power sector, I contributed for Dawn's Economic and Business Review section as well. Later I was assigned for Power Sector and Aviation both. When present Bureau Chief AFP in Karachi decided to leave The STAR after his prolong association as Chief Reporter, I replaced him and since then covered political issues regularly . Some times crime stories carry strong political angles like recent murder of underworld kingpin Shoaib Khan on which my story stirred up the political climate and jolted the provincial government. I still lead STAR staff reporters team in Karachi as well as a big network of reporters all across the country.


I travelled to Iraq twice. Just before the war and soon after the war therefore, not only I got a chance to study the dynamics of the society but cultivated sources who still helps me writing stories.
